The Liberal Catholic Church Grail Community is a form of Christianity open to theosophical ideas and even reincarnation. It is not connected to the Roman Catholic Church.

Formation

In May 1988, Rev. Roy Bannister took his Liberal Catholic Church (LCC) Parish in Grays, Essex and joined with the LCC Oklahoma Synod. A year later, the Parish went independent and moved to Devon. Roy Bannister was consecrated as a Bishop by Bishop John Schwarz III, Presiding Bishop of the LCC Oklahoma Synod.

Beliefs

The Grail Community experimented with women's ordination into the minor and later major orders of the Church. It was determined later that women were simply unable to properly consecrate the bread and wine at the Eucharist, thus the ordination of women was abandoned. In spite of this, they do claim to be the first Liberal Catholic church to ordain women, and maintain an emphasis on Our Lady, dedicating all oratories to her.
